Zooooo Dayz !!!!

Shafi's uncle family have come here for a week for their son's half yearly vacation. We would like to entertain them by taking them to any good place in Bangalore apart from shopping . As they are not interested to go to Wonderla Amusement park, we gave them a suggestion of Bannerghatta National Park. They are ready for that and we have decided to go on Sunday [yeah, today only] as Shafi had an important work at office yesterday.
I am ready for the zoo, in my new frock.

Me and my Sameema maami

Rismi is just 8 months old and this the first time we are taking her to the ZOO. She could recognize the animals which are Elephant, Bear, Tiger and Lion [Thanks to Animal Planet !!!] . She was so happy to get ready as the other kids and Sameema was around her. Rismi does not trouble me much while having food, getting dressed up when the kids are around. She used to happily playing with them, by that time, I could finish my work ;) [feeding, getting her ready, etc..]. We all set up ready and left home by 9.30 am and reached the zoo at around 10.15 am.
I'm excited, Let's go for zoo?

Hey Jolly Jolly!!! Came to zoo !!!
Due to Sunday, there was a bigggggggggggg queue in front of the ticket counter. We were waiting, waiting & waiting and finally we got tickets after an hour. Uffff.... Oh My God !!!  It really checked our patience. We have decided, at any cost, we should not come here on Sunday or any other holiday. First We had been to butterfly park and we could hardly find the butterflies. But there were few butterflies which are really really beautiful and big enough with lots of lovely colors on its feathers. I am not sure, why didn't I take any photos of it :( . May be fed up and tired of with the queue.
Shhhhh! Be quiet !! There are so many elephants behind me !!

Am with my daddy, Kamil and Kasif Maama
We went for a Wild Safari, it is like a drive through zoo where the animals roam free and can come up to your car.  There is no bars or cages and the animal is set free. Rismi was very excited to see all animals. But to the 8 months old, it makes really a hard difference where the animals are inside the cage and set free. But other kids really enjoyed it. Few of our captures are below.
Pride tiger !!!
A rare white Tiger !!!

Group of dotted deers

Sambar deer
After finishing the wild safari, we had been roaming all over the zoo to see the animals, reptiles and birds which are inside the cage. Shafi took care of Rismi very well, showed all the animals and explained about it to her neatly. Hope she understood what he said :) .
Dad, give a pose for the photo. Mom is waiting !!!
Usshhh... I'm bit tired. Let me take rest for a while in your hand :)
Yep ! Enjoyed the zoo very much. Lets go home...
We had a very good time in the zoo and enjoyed nicely with the kids. Rismi slept in the car itself. After having lunch at McDonald's, we back home at around 4'o clock.

Rismi is 6 Months Old!

It is so difficult for me to believe that Rismi is already 6 months old! My God!!!  How quickly the time goes! We went to the pediatrician on Wednesday, October 15th and got a great report. Rismi is now 7 Kg and 25 inches long. She is starting to get into everything and becoming more fun each day!

At 6 months old, Rismi's favorite songs are the "ABCs", "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star", and "Johny Johny yes Papa". Her favorite toys are her musical duck, Sea-Horse, musical light-up star, toy cell phone, and duck puppet. Her favorite books are "What Makes Elmo Happy?" and "Quack, Quack!" which has lots of fun animal pictures and textures for her to feel. She also loves feeling faces and grabbing hair. We've had a couple of battles on her releasing my hair so I've decided to not wear earrings for awhile in an attempt to keep my ear lobes intact.

Rismi's favorite activity, without a doubt, is to stand, on anything and anyone, and try to walk. I'm trying to make her realize that crawling and/or rolling is easier and would enable her to move around but she isn't buying it. Rismi has decided her play mats are better used for standing than tummy time.

We are so blessed to have this precious little girl to raise and I am so excited about the next 6 months with Rismi !!!

27th day of Ramadan

Rismi celebrated her first 27th day of Ramadan today... We believe that "Laylat al-Qadr" (The Night of Power) is the night in which the Qur'an was first revealed to the Prophet Muhammad and it is considered the most holy night of the year. Laylat al-Qadr is believed to have occurred on an odd-numbered night during the last 10 days of Ramadan, either the night of the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th or 29th. If Laylat al-Qadr falls on the 27th day of Ramadan this year then that is why the 27th is important  .[There is no history in the Quran as when the specific date is.]

Now, I'm taller than my daddy :D
Photo-vaa ????

As on the other days of Ramadan, we do not eat,or drink during the hours of daylight on Laylat al-Qadr. We pray extra prayers on this day, particularly the night prayer. Whole night, we will be awake, pray, and hope God will give us anything we desire on this night. Mostly, we perform tilawat (reading the Qur'an).

But Naan nallaaa saapitten :)
I have prepared Ghee rice and chicken gravy for Iftar . [ At the end of the day/fasting, the fast is broken with prayer and a meal called the iftar. Iftar is done right after Maghrib (sunset) time. Traditionally, 'Date' is the first thing we eat when the fast is broken ] . We all dressed up nicely with a new dress ..

Enakku illaya, chicken ? :(
We all had nice dinner, but Rismi tasted a little as she is just 6 months old, else she could have had nice dinner.  After finishing the Iftar , Shafi went to mosque for prayer and he back home early in the morning around 5am  . I put Rismi to sleep and was praying and reading Qur'an till Shafi comes back.

And finally thought of sleeping around 6'o clock in the morning, by that time Rismi woke up .. Then what else .. Fed her milk and Played with her , and slept finally at 8.30 am :)
