Rismi's First Sports Day

            Heritage Academy [Rismi's School] celebrated its annual SPORTS DAY on 11th December 2010 at VET Ground, JP Nagar, Bangalore. It's Rismi's First-Ever Sports Day. Rismi dressed in School T-Shirt, Denim Pant and with Cap [Dress code for sports day]. We [Rismi , myself and shafi ] have reached the venue little late, and we thought we might have missed Rismi's Play Group Session. But Thank GOD !!! still the races were going on for Junior Kinder Garden kids. So we are bit relaxed that , it takes another half an hour to reach Play group kids. We settled in the place where they have been allotted the seats for Play group.

                    They have neatly arranged the ground with some stalls such as food stalls, toys stalls, tattoo stalls etc. Rismi liked to put butterfly tattoo on her hand. There were so many races for the kids depending on their age. Sack race, Running Race, Relay Race, Lemon with spoon race, etc.. Rismi was showing great excitement towards the races and she was waiting for her turn to participate. Ya, finally her turn came !!!

            We are instructed that,  Play Group Kids are small enough to participate in the races alone, parents has to accompany the children. I came forward to accompany Rismi [as Shafi had a neck sprain] . The rule of the race is, there are three points, the one is a Starting Point, next is Mid-point and the last is Ending point. In the starting point parent has to stand with the kids, and when they whistles parent has to carry the kids and run towards the mid-point. In the mid point they kept a balloon and the thread. Parent has to blow the balloon and tie it and after that they have to give it to the kid and kid should run towards the ending point.

Rismi came second in the race!!! They gave the medal and Perc chocolate to the winning kids . Rismi was so happy and interested to receive the medal.  Yeah !!!  Its Rismi's First Sports day, First Race and First Medal ...

        Finally they have arranged a race for the Parents toooo.. For Guys, they had a Slow cycle race and for Ladies, Spoon with Lemon Race. Shafi didn't participate since, as I already said he had sprain . So I participated in the race and Lost it .. Ha Ha Ha !!!    " Winning is not everything but participation is...   ;)  "

Rismi with my colleagues

           My colleague Priya wanted a transfer to her hometown - Chennai and she got it also. So she gave us Treat to celebrate the transfer [Ya, Its a Farewell treat only !!!] . So we planned to go to Atithi Restaurant for lunch on 1st December. Priya asked me to bring Rismi also along with me . I replied her , it depends on Rismi's Mood , let me try to bring her to restaurant.

        Today I have asked Rismi that, " I am going out for lunch with my friends. Do you come with me ?? " . She asked me again "Friends-na , who are all Amma? " .. I told her " Priya aunty and Pavani Aunty ". Then she said, oh !! No uncles rite , I will also come with you .. [ She is bit scared with strangers [especially Gents] from her babyhood . ] . She got ready in pattu pavadai and happy to come with me. 

I am ready !! lets go for lunch .

            It was drizzling a bit in the afternoon and she held the umbrella in her hand and walked with me so merrily. We reached the hotel and placed the order. As it is a Andhra cuisine [most of the items are spicy],  we safely ordered Finger Chips for Rismi and she likes it too.

         To my Surprise, Rismi is not reserved there and she is so friendly and mingled nicely with Pavani and Priya . Ya, Rismi is grown up now!!! We had a very good lunch, but Rismi just tasted the Kalmi kabab and Chicken Biryani [As it was spicy, she said , No amma!!! It is kaara .. I don't want] . But she enjoyed the Finger chips. While coming back , she took one handful of Sweet - Saunf from the restaurant . Now a days, Its became a routine for her :) .

  
       I thought of dropping her to home and come back to office. We have to cross my office to go to home. The moment Priya and Pavani said bye to Rismi, She started compelling me to take her to my office. I said, "No, No Rismi, Its a working hour, You should not come ", like that . So Rismi got upset and her face became very dull :( . Then Pavani and Priya encouraged me to take her inside. Hence, I put a condition to Rismi that, only 10 minutes, after that we have to go to home.. She is agreed and became so happy. Her face glowed like a 1000 volts bulb when i said YES to her  :) .

I know to play Carom !!!

           We all went to canopy directly . Rismi enjoyed a lot there and played carom with Priya and Pavani for sometime. Then , she said Bye to them and we came back home !!! Rismi had a very nice time with my friends, and  they too enjoyed her company !!!

Bakrid-2010 [Eid Al-Adha]

            This is Rismi's Second Bakrid. As usual we celebrated this Bakrid in Kumbakonam with my in-laws. We [Myself, Rismi, Rismi's Grandpa and Priya] reached Kumbakonam in the early morning of the festival day [Shafi went to Bangkok. He came from there directly to Kumbakonam for Bakrid.]
 

       Rismi took bath in the early morning and wore a new yellow frock [Rismi's grandma bought that for Eid]. She is so gorgeous in the yellow frock. She liked to keep flower on head. She got ready, and went to Iniya's [her friend]  house to show her dress. She was so happy to wear all gold ornaments [New studs, New chain, and New bangles .. ]. Of course Girls love ornaments rite!!!

      Rismi was so happy to roam around with new dress . We had a special prayer for Bakrid at 8.30 in the morning. Rismi also prayed with us as she knows already how to pray [Shafi taught her]. To my surprise, she prayed with full concentration. She followed or imitated whatever we did. For her age, she has so much of faith on Allah... Great !!!

   After Prayer, We had yummy breakfast. Then we gave Qurbani [ Sacrificial slaughter] of  Goat for Eid. We kept one third of Qurbani meat at home and distributed two third to poor people and relatives. Rismi was so happy to go to all of our relatives houses to give the Qurbani meat.

           We prepared Mutton Biryani for lunch. Rismi's one of the favourite dish is Biryani. She loves Biryani very much and she enjoyed the Biryani what we prepared for Eid. After having lunch, She slept peacefully as she got up early in the morning and tired too , b'coz she played nicely. She enjoyed a lot this Bakrid . 

       The next day of Bakrid, we went to Aduthurai [my mom's place]. Rismi was so eager to meet her grand parents. My mom prepared Rismi's favourite sweet kesari and Jamun. Rismi liked it very much. She got new dresses from my mom too [கொடுத்து வச்சவ Rismi  !!! எல்லாரும் நியூ டிரஸ் கொடுக்கறாங்க அவளுக்கு  :) ].

          My father gave her lots of chocolates and toys to her. He presented one small bank house to Rismi to encourage the Saving Habit. When we keep the coin on the button and press it, dog comes and snatch the coin and get it inside. She liked it very much.

   
       We were in Kumbakonam for last 5 days and back to Bangalore today only. Rismi was very upset to leave her grand parents and her Friend Iniya. She did not want to come to Bangalore itself. But no other go.. She has to come back :( . This bakrid was so great and good feeling to see all of them in the native :) .

Mysore Trip

         Finally Shafi got some time to breath relaxedly after a hard day's work [ Not a day, Years together ;) ] . Yeah!! We had a long weekend (3 Days .. Thanks to Kannada Rajyotsva!!!) . First we planned to go to Coorg. But we dropped that plan as we thought Rismi doesn't enjoy much there .. So decided to go to Mysore , b'coz of Rismi , though Mysore is not a new place for us . We started here at 2'o clock in the car after having lunch .

             All the way, Rismi was asking when Mysore comes??? , When we reach there??? She was so happy as we are going to Zoo .. She is expecting mysore each and every minute . Yep!!! We reached mysore by 5'o clock and refreshed in the Hotel [Shafi already booked a room in Hotel Sujatha - He is well planned , surprisingly ;)]. Oh.. Sorry !!! I forgot to tell onething.. When we reached Mysore we were enquiring about the hotel address. Rismi asked the same question now, Where is Mysore? I said,  we are very much in Mysore dear.. She replied, No Amma! We are in the Car ..  I really surprised after hearing this statement .. What a Presence of Mind !!! These days Kids are so smart !!! What do you say ??

          At 7'o clock, reached Brindhavan. By the time , we reach there, it was dark and it was drizzling tooo . So we directly went to see Water Dance. Took a ticket for Boat after standing in the Long queue. First Rismi was so scared to get into boat. Somehow we have managed to get in her. But while getting down, she didn't want to.. She wanted to go one more round :) . Again we somehow manged to get out of her from the boat . Within 10 minutes what a big Change !!! Really, its a challenge to bring up the Kids..

       We got a good place and was waiting to watch the Water Dance , rather want to show the Water Dance to Rismi . Unfortunately, it was started raining heavily [Left the umbrella in the Car itslef]. So without seeing it we rushed over to Car and headed back to Hotel . Had a good dinner and slept off .. Morning we got ready and directly went to Zoo [Yep, Rismi's expectation comes to an end !!!] . She enjoyed a lot in the Zoo. She stood near each and every place of the animal's cage and asked so many questions about that. Shafi didn't get tired at all and replied her patiently.

          Her favourite animals are Elephant, Gorilla, Crocodile, Giraffe, Zeebra, Chimpanzee, Tiger, Lion etc  etc..... She saw everything except Lion.. She asked Where is the Lion ? But our Lion KING was sleeping inside the Cage [Not able to see as it was sleeping behind the rock] .. When all other animals were quite active , Our only KING could sleep in the pretty day Time {Am not telling about TLs ;)} We were in the Zoo for more than 3 hours and showed almost all the birds and animals to Rismi in the Zoo . [Hope we did not miss anything]

      We got tired as we were walking all over the zoo.. But Rismi .. No chance !!! she was brisk enough and eager to see What is Next  ??? Great !!! I love to be Kids.. They don't get bored easily rite.. Whatever they see, its new for them and learning something from it.. Quite Interesting know,  To be a Child :)

  

         After having a good lunch [ofcourse relaxed sometime in the room], we headed back to Bangalore . But Rismi did not want to come to Banglore.. She wanted to be in Mysore. I told her, Next week we will come here like that [We teach kids, that we should not Lie. But at times, we cant stand over by our words :)]

          While driving back, She peacefully slept in the car and we reached home by 7'o clock .. Rismi's first trip to Mysore!!! She is asking me still, மைசூர்-கூ போலாமா? . Lets see.. When can we ? :)

Diwali - 2010

          As like last 5 years, this time also we were in Bangalore for Diwali. The previous day of Diwali as usual we had a dinner invite to Swami's home . Had a wonderful vegetarian dinner in their home . Swami's mom prepared all the dishes deliciously.  Soooo Yummmmmmmmmmy  ...

                After finishing the dinner, went to ground floor for bursting the crackers. Rismi and Sahana enjoyed a lot [they are not scared to my surprise]. They both liked a lot to play with crackers [Flower pot, Sangu Chakkara and Matthaapu] . First time Rismi holds the Matthaapu on her own.. She was so happy ..She wants to play with it again and again ... But what to do ... It was already 10.30... So we back to Mantri...

           Crackers  Sound gave a wake-up call for us in the early morning ... I felt bad , that can't sleep in the holiday.. But Rismi is so so enthu to go out and see the crackers. She got ready with new green frock and went out with Meera for bursting the crackers . Saanvi  also joined in the later stage with them and they all formed a gang.. ROWDI GANG :)

        When the clock reaches 6 o clock in the evening, it was started drizzling. We were worried that, can't enjoy the bursting of colorful crackers.. Thank GOD !!! the rain was stopped .. It was so wonderful to see all the colorful shots of rockets in the sky.. till 11.30 in the night, people were bursting the crackers in the apartment. It was so grand in Mantri .. Colorful crackers are very pleasing to the eyes.. Rismi enjoyed a lot .....

                      She wants to have Diwali daily .. She asked me next day of Diwali, Amma!! why today no noise.. "தீபாவளி வேணும் எனக்கு"  like that ... கடையில விக்கற மிட்டாய்-ன்னு நெனச்சிகிட்டா தீபாவளி-ய :) .... She had 3 days holidays in school for Diwali .. Jolly Jolly for her.. If she is Happy , by default we feel Happy ... So this Diwali is full of HAPPINESS.. What else we need :)

Rhea - Gauri's Birthday Party

         Happy Birthday to our fabulous Rhea and Gauri !!!   Our sweet gurlz turned SIX on November 6th !! Yeah, The big day is Today !!!  Rekha and Sanjay celebrated the twin gurlz birthday with their close family friends. We all had a great time! Here are some of the highlights.

       Rismi was so enthusiastic about the birthday party and was very happy to attend it.  She all dressed to the party! She was having a little too much fun playing with the stone works on her outfit and ripped-off  many stones,  minutes after being dressed. We have reached their home at around 7'o clock in the night. Rhea and Gauri were waiting at the entrance for our arrival. Once we entered, they get delighted at the arrival of us and Rismi wished them happily with the gifts she got for them.

         Apart from Rhea-Gauri twins, there were another set of gurlz Indu-vishali [they are also twins] who are the classmates of Rhea and Gauri. They lit up the birthday gurlz home with diyas and colorful ligths for the party. All the kids enjoyed playing with crackers before having the cake cutting session.  When the rocket flies high and burst opens into an umbrella of colourful embers, Rismi and other kids watch this spectacular in awe, the beauty raining down towards them. The children quickly light up a fire wheel which dances on the floor, flower pot which blooms in the air, just as a couple of noisy bombs go off in the background. Crackers hold a fascination for both young and old alike. We also enjoyed a lot along with kids !!!

         After having a enjoyment with the colorful and noisy crackers , it was time to sing Happy Birthday and bring out the cake. Sanjay ordered a barbie cake as Rhea  and Gauri fond of barbie dolls.

Here's Twin gurlz Birthday Cake !!!

           Rhea and Gauri were so happy to have a Barbie as a Birthday cake. Rismi was also liked the cake very much. All the kids were so so happy and be with the barbie cake. Have a look on below photos, how they are happy to with the barbie cake.

       Birthday gurlz cut the cake happily and followed by mouth watering dinner. All prepared by Rekha and the menu was very very delicious. We had such a fun party and Rismi loved the birthday cake very much!!
